Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Albuquerque
Sunday, April 26th Register and Walk from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events have no registration fee and no fundraising minimum. These noncompetitive walks range in distance from three to five miles, and men, women, and children of all ages are encouraged to participate. Your participation will support the American Cancer Society's lifesaving research, prevention, early detection, and support programs for thousands of patients and their families.

This free, three-day educational program, hosted by Cancer Services of New Mexico, will provide New Mexico’s adult cancer patients/survivors and their loved ones with tools and information to manage the treatment and recovery process.

Coaches vs. Cancer BasketBall Gala

The Coaches v. Cancer BasketBall will team with the University of New Mexico Lobos provide a basketball-themed gala event. Coaches v. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) that empowers basketball coaches, their teams, and communities to join the fight against cancer. Since 1993, more than 500 coaches nationwide have raised nearly $40 million to support the Society’s lifesaving efforts to eliminate cancer.

Climb to Conquer Cancer

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October
National campaign which reaches out to all women throughout the United States with several key messages about the importance of early detection and the value of treatment if breast cancer is found early. Friday, October 16th, is National Mammography Day. We encourage women to schedule a mammogram.

First and Third Thursdays of each month, 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Free clinics to assist cancer patients/survivors, caregivers, and loved ones with cancer-related legal, insurance, and paperwork issues. Volunteers with expertise in insurance/medical coverage, disability, legal issues, financial issues and paperwork issues will help answer your questions. The sessions are personal consultations that will focus on your specific issues, not lectures. Spanish-language assistance is available.
