What services are covered?

The Well-Woman Exam is a yearly checkup that includes screening for breast and cervical cancer.

Services paid for by the BCC Program USUALLY include:

  • Clinical Breast Exam (CBE)
  • Pelvic Exam
  • Mammogram (every two years for women 40-49, yearly for women 50 and older, or when medically indicated)
  • Pap Test
  • Some additional breast and cervical tests IF NEEDED, such as ultrasound, biopsy, etc.

Mammograms make it possible to find breast cancer at an early stage.

Pap tests make it possible to find precancerous (dysplasia) and cervical cancer at an early stage.

Every year that you continue to be eligible for the BCC Program, you can get a Well-Woman Exam at no cost!

*NOTE: If your physician orders other tests that are not covered through the BCC Program, you may be responsible for paying for these services.
