Mission
The New Mexico Department of Health Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program is dedicated to improving access to high-quality breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic services for women who are under served, and to increasing public awareness through education about prevention, disease processes and the importance of regular screening exams for early detection.
NMDOH BCC Program
The New Mexico Department of Health Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection (BCC) Program provides age-appropriate accepted standard-of-care breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic services to eligible low-income women statewide.
You may call the BCC Program’s bilingual, toll-free information line to find out if you MAY be eligible, and to find the nearest BCC medical provider(s) in your city or area to contact. The medical provider will make the FINAL DETERMINATION regarding your eligibility.

Since it was established in 1991, the BCC Program has provided services to more than 142,200 women, including:

- 159,000 mammograms

Memorial Fund
The Breast Cancer Awareness plate is available to any motor vehicle owner. Of the $37 fee collected, $25 goes to the NM Department of Health to help fund breast cancer screening, outreach and education. This fee is assessed each year with license renewal. Click to apply for this plate.
